Canada Water – Site Tour
Canada Water site tour with British Land and Art-Invest Real Estate
Canada Water, in the London Borough of Southwark, is emerging as London’s next great place.
The redevelopment of the area, which incorporates British Land’s and AustralianSuper’s Canada Water Masterplan and Art-Invest Real Estate’s Dockside Canada Water development, is the most significant that London has seen for the last 50 years.
Delegates are invited to come and see firsthand the progress being made in guided tours of the two schemes in small groups led by members of the British Land and Art-Invest development teams. The tours will walk through the schemes, whilst taking in pieces of the 130 acres of open green spaces and water that are unique to Canada Water.
The Canada Water Masterplan is a 50:50 joint venture between British Land and AustralianSuper, working in partnership with Southwark Council to create a new town centre for London that was granted permission in 2019. It will deliver around 3,000 new homes, workspace for an estimated 20,000 workers, and up to one million sq. ft. of leisure, cultural and education facilities, all alongside a new 3.5-acre park and a revitalised Canada Dock.
The first phase of the Canada Water Masterplan completes this year, delivering 300,000 sq ft of workspace and 13,000 sq ft of retail at Three Deal Porters and Dock Shed, a new leisure centre for Southwark Council and 186 new homes at The Founding. Sustainability is embedded into the development’s streets, spaces and buildings, with BREEAM Outstanding and Nabers 4.5* ratings, as well as being one of only two WiredScore Platinum Neighbourhoods in Europe.
Alongside this new town centre sits Art-Invest’s Dockside Canada Water scheme; a1.5 million sq ft a new commercially led urban quarter with new places to work, eat, drink, live and relax fronting the dock edge.
Art-Invest’s vision for Dockside is to enable improved health and wellbeing for local people and the future workforce. It is championing access to local sport, health and wellbeing facilities and delivering significant new public realm which includes the rejuvenation of the eastern Canada dock edge.
Delegates must select the Canada Water Site Tour as a single session choice. ULI will work with our colleagues at British Land and Art-Invest Real Estate to allocate individuals to groups starting at 09:00 and 10:00 respectively. We will endeavour to keep individuals together where specifically requested via email to: [email protected]
